Fifth Wheel Trailers

Fifth wheel trailers are designed to be towed by a pickup or medium duty truck equipped with a special hitch in the truck bed. The term "fifth wheel" is derived from the circular or wheel-shaped bearing mechanism, secured on the rear chassis of a truck that supports the weight of the front end of the trailer. Fifth wheel trailers often have an extension on the front of the trailer which serves as a bedroom. Some fifth wheel trailers also feature a slideout for expanded living space. Most fifth wheel trailers provide a small kitchen, refrigerator, heating and air conditioning, a toilet, shower, sinks, water tanks and power outlets. Prices for fifth wheel trailers range from $15,000 to $150,000.
