Zion National Park

Located in southwestern Utah on the Markagunt and Kolob plateaus, Zion National Park is one of the most dramatically beautiful places in the world. Zion was founded as a national park in 1919, and has since become one of the most popular outdoor destinations in the United States.

More the 150 miles of hiking trail crisscross the interior of the park. With great trails like Taylor Creek and Kolob Arch, the park is a must see for the hiker in the family.

Zion features some of the best rock climbing in the country, with many great walls like Touchstone, Spaceshot, and Prodigal Son being very popular.

Canyoneering is one of the most popular sports at Zion, with Pine Creek and Mystery Canyon being among the best routes the park has to offer. Zion has over 50 technical canyons, characterized by their beautiful sandstone walls and breathtaking views. Some of the most difficult canyons require technical gear and specialized techniques to escape.

Zion Lodge, located halfway trough the park, is open year-round and has motel units and cabins for every budget. The lodge also features a 5-star restaurant, café, and a gift shop. There are also three camp grounds available to the more outdoorsy types, South, Watchman, and Lava Point. Permits are also available for camping in the backcountry.
